Milan Fashion Week – Dolce & Gabbana and Versace.

I thought I’d do a separate post to comemorate the fabulous designs of Dolce & Gabbana and Versace. Dolce & Gabbana gave their show a Latino, ‘days gone by’ twist with Lace and Fringe in Black and White, they ‘brought sexy back’ and I’m glad to see it.

On the other Hand Versace put their fashion forward head on giving us cute and colourful cocktail dresses in , apparently, an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme ( I’ll have to try again to find evidence of that referance!). Anyway, It was another triumph for Donatella. There were some nice shoes aswell.

Nicholas Kirckwood is Amazing!

I mentioned Nicholas Kirckwood’s devine creations for Rodarte in my last post and I thought I’d just sing his praises a little more for those that (somehow!) haven’t heard of Nicholas Kirckwood before. His shoe desings are gerenally all about structure. They aren’t all cute and graceful.The key feature of his shoes that gives this structure edge is his signature shaped platfrom sole and heel. They project power and decisiveness. These shoes are for women who know what they want and are going to get it any way any how.

I’m not usually someone who goes for the ‘structured’ heel but there is something about his heels that make me want to become some sort of high powered fashionista bussiness woman. One day (sigh!). A selection of his shoes can be brought from Browns and Luisaviaroma.

These are the heels Nicholas Kirckwood designed for the S/S 10 Rodarte show.
