Here’s a tropically themed editorial to counter the gloomy grey skies on Autumn. It’s from Vogue Spain way back in April 2009. I’m in love with the garden and it reminds me of one from Harriet The Spy – Anyone remember that?? Anway, it was shot by Alix Malka. Via Noir Facade.
El idolo perdido
Audrey Grace
So. This is what I’ve been doing for the past month – aside from roaming around Dorset. I was asked by the lovely owner of the soon-to-be opened Audrey Grace Boutique to create some artworks to sell as prints. Now, suffice to say I was rather excited about this as it’s my first real commission – if you don’t count painting my Aunt’s cat!
I’ll post some of my work and a few process photos soon, but for now here’s an interview with the owner of the boutique, Jaclyn. She loves Lula, need I say more…
◊◊◊1. Tell me about yourself.
I am from Jackson, Mississippi- a small city in the deep south. I currently live in New York City where I am in final year of university studying acting. I plan to pursue an acting career. I also love fashion very much, and hope it will always be a part of what I do.
2. What inspired you to set up the Audrey Grace Boutique?
I wanted to bring all the beautiful things I had found all over the world back home. I had actually wanted to open a boutique for a while.. I dreamed about it. I cannot believee it’s happening!
3. Considering the name of your boutique, what are you favourite Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly films?
Yes, I adore Lula! I’d love to work for them. If I could start a magazine I think it would be really original and full of wonderful people and things. It would be very girly, also! I actually thought about doing just that with all the lovely contacts I have made through the boutique.
5. What are some of your favourite books, magazines and blogs?
This is really bad.. but I don’t really listen to popular music. I listen to Broadway soundtracks or movie soundtracks! I love She & Him, though! ( Don’t worry Jaclyn, I listen to soundtracks aswell – Chicago, Funny Girl, Hello Dolly… I could go on!)
8.What does the future hold for you and the Audrey Grace Boutique?
I hope to continue pursuing acting. I think Audrey Grace will always be a part of me and I’d love to open it as a permanent shop one day.
◊◊◊
The Boutique will sell items from all sorts of wonderful designers and artists; from Erin Fetherston, to Up The Wooden Hills, Genevieve Godbout, Family Affairs, Wayward Daughter, TBA and Alice Takes A Trip (And more!). Below you can see some examples of all these wonderful things…

Autumn Sonata
I know, I’ve been away for an age! I’ve been working on something that I will reveal with a great flourish in a few days. For now, to conicide with the turning seasons, here is an Autumn Sonata. This is an editorial from the October 2011 issue of Vogue UK and I loved it as soon as I saw it. For some reason it reminded me of Anne Of Green Gables, don’t know why, but it’s a good thing! The photography is by Tom Craig, images via Noir Facade.

Paris Fashion Week: 05/10/11
Well, we’re finally here: the last day. As always, images from NYmag…
Okay, we start with a rainbow collection from Elie Saab; followed by a butter-wouldn’t-melt collection (the opposite of last season’s look!) from Louis Vuitton. Then we have my beloved Miu Miu – I prefer last season, but I still love Miu Miu – and finally, finally, finally we have Talbot Runhof. And so, the time has come, to say farwell to fashion month once more…
Paris Fashion Week: 04/10/11
Here we have looks from the penultimate day of both Paris fashion week and the whole fashion month (Noooooooo…). We definitly have the fashion big guns today though… (!!!For a while this was seen as the 09/10/11 in the title – sorry for the typo!!!!!)
We start with the great Alexander McQueen; then Chanel (do you recognise Florence!); then we have Jean-Charles De Castelbajac and Paco Rabanne. Lastly we have Paul & Joe and the gorgeousness of Valentino. Images from NYmag.
